Raksha Bandhan, the festival, which symbolizes a bond of protection between a brother and a sister, was also celebrated in Amcare Hospital, VIP Road Zirakpur. Mrs Ramta Arora from Tricity tied rakhi to Dr Gagan Deep Gupta, Consultant Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement Surgery, as a token of thanks for giving her a new lease of life by a new technique Stitchless & Painless (SLPL) knee replacement surgeries. Mrs Ramta Arora, 62 yrs old, was discharged on the eve of Raksha Bandhan from Amcare Hospital and a cake cutting ceremony was also held during the occasion.
Mrs Arora shared that she was very apprehensive about undergoing the surgery. But to her surprise she had a very smooth recovery. Seeing her recovery her sister also underwent TKR at Amcare Hospital right two days post her surgery. She appreciated the whole team of Amcare Hospital for their compassionate care.

Dr Gagan Deep Gupta said that SLPL is getting popular nowadays and patients are now opting for this new technique. He added that in SLPL technique, no metal or thread stitches are applied on the outer skin rather subcuticular sutures are used with which patient doesn’t have to visit the hospital for stitch removal post discharge. Dr Gagan Deep Gupta added that It is also cosmetically better to give patient a pain free experience. The patient can stand and walk very next day of the surgery and can live an active life afterwards. This new technique was lauched by Dr Gagan in year 2019 and he has performed more than 200 plus knee replacement technique.
